The Cathedral of Santa Maria de Girona is found at the highest point in the city of Girona. With its construction begun in the 11th century, you will enjoy a mixture of Romanesque and Gothic architecture inside. This is an especially unique cathedral because of its single nave structure with the second largest single nave in the world. It is also home to a plethora of intricate sculpture in its cloister. The bulk of the exterior of the church was constructed from the 14th to 18th centuries, demonstrating elements of both Baroque and Classical architecture from the outside.
