Marooned off the southwest coast of Tenerife, the tiny island of La Gomera has a lost-in-time feel. Away from the tourist trail, it's totally unspoilt – think jagged ravines, terraced white villages and pristine forests.

The deep valleys of Gomera's UNESCO-protected Garajonay National Park are home to rare plants, unique to the island. After taking in jaw-dropping scenery, it's on to the historic capital, San Sebastian. Crammed with pastel-coloured houses, this pretty place is knee-deep in history – Columbus sailed from here on his 1492 voyage of discovery.

Also on the agenda is an included Gomeran meal at a quaint country restaurant plus a demonstration of local ‘silbo' whistling, which islanders have used for centuries to send messages across the vast ravines.

Fast ausschließlich deutsche Teilnehmer. Aber der Guide (Frau) sprach nur sehr schlecht deutsch. In Verbindung mit den englischen Erklärungen konnte man sich das meiste ableiten. Aber in spanisch wurde sehr lange vorgetragen. Drei Sprachen sind wahrscheinlich zu viel und verlangen zu viel Zeit. Die präsentierten Inhalte waren meist sehr banal. Beispiel: Ohne Nachfrage wäre uns nicht erklärt worden, welche Route gefahren wurde.

Gefallen hat mir die Fähre. Nicht gefallen hat mir die vielen kurzen Stopps da 5 min. dort 10 min.usw. Essen war geschmacklich gut aber von einem Mittagessen kann man nicht sprechen.Portionen waren kleiner als auf einem Kinderteller. Hatten einen klein Bus in diesem waren die Sitzplätze sehr schmal. Personen mit stärkerem gewicht hätten starke Probleme bekommen.

Ein richtig typische Touri Tour. Schrecklich, komplett durchgetacktet. 1,5h Warte Zeit an der Fähre vor Abfahrt. Bustour durch La Gomera würde eher die Beschreibung passen. Sehr anstrengend, 3 Sprachiger Guide, wobei in Spanisch sehr ausführlich, Englisch weniger und in Deutsch sehr wenige Erklärungen gegeben wurden. Rückfahrt mit 1h Wartezeit auf die Fähre. Der Guide hat sich dann in Las Americas verabschiedet. Die Tour hat insgesamt knapp 14Std gedauert, viel zu lang!! Nie wieder!!

Wer gerne den ganzen Tag im Bus sitzen möchte, ist hier bestens aufgehoben. Die Insel hat mir nicht gefallen. Der Guide war sehr nett - aber 3 sprachig nervt irgendwann. Ich würde die Tour nicht noch mal buchen. La Gomera ein Mal reicht.

Mir hat nicht gefallen, dass der Guide die Tour mehrsprachig ausgeführt hat. Beim Mittagessen war der Fisch lecker und schön angerichtet, dagegen war das Fleischgericht schwach gewürzt und sehr überschaubar bis wenig angerichtet am Teller. Die Nachspeise Kuchen mit Eis, war sehr lieblos zu Tisch serviert worden. Die Vorspeise, sprich die Suppe, hat nach gar nichts geschmeckt. Die Organisation der Tour war reibungslos.

VIP La Gomera by minivan tour from north of Tenerife

Sites & Bites: Icod de los Vinos and La Orotava’s bananas and wine

The pine forests and coastal cliffs of northern Tenerife give it a natural and rugged look, but it's the volcanic, fertile soil that provides the area with its star attractions. From vineyards and orchards to banana farms and ancient trees, you'll see and taste Tenerife's home-grown highlights on this half-day tour.First up is Icod de los Vinos, a 16th-century town with a great view of Mount Teide. But even Spain's highest peak can't steal the attention away from the Drago Milenario, a thousand-year-old dragon tree that takes pride of place in the town's botanical gardens. This incredible specimen stands at over 20 metres tall with a canopy that's spread to over 300 main branches. Your guide will explain more about why this native tree is a cultural symbol of the Canaries during your visit. Guided tour of the San Blas Environmental Reserve in Tenerife with transfers
