Le matin, vous monterez dans le bus VIP et partirez en direction du Parc national du Teide. Un arrêt est prévu en chemin dans un café à Vilaflor. Le plus haut village de l'île vous réserve un vieux quartier compact, rempli de bâtiments coloniaux. Au parc national, un site du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO, du temps libre vous permet d'explorer les Roques de Garcia. Ces roches volcaniques déchiquetées sont parfaites pour de beaux selfies. En sortant du parc vers le nord, les paysages lunaires laissent place à des forêts d'eucalyptus luxuriantes.

Vous arrêterez dans un restaurant populaire, avec des vues sur le Teide et le littoral, pour déguster un déjeuner typique à base de produits de saison locaux. L'après-midi, vous rejoindrez Puerto de la Cruz. Vous pourrez vous promener le long de son front de mer volcanique, de ses places bordées de palmiers et de ses jardins exotiques. Sur le chemin du retour, nous nous arrêterons à un célèbre point de vue qui surplombe le village côtier de Garachico, balayé par les vagues.

North West Tenerife Hidden Secrets Guided Tour with Transport

Santiago del Teide, local speciality tasting and a trip to Teno Rural Park are also part of the line-up.You'll journey through Santiago del Teide, a highland village of whitewashed homes. In Icod de Los Vinos, you'll admire the centuries-old dragon tree, with some free time to wander around the town. Garachico – often called the ‘prettiest and unluckiest' – awaits with some interesting history. Devastated by a volcanic eruption in 1706 and rebuilt on its lava, it's now famous for natural lava pools, guarded by a volcanic rock castle, where locals and visitors alike come to bathe. When it's time to take a break, there's a tasty local lunch, served in a family-run restaurant in a traditional finca. Teno Rural Park showcases the island's rich biodiversity and is known as the source of Tenerife's top-quality natural produce. You'll even get to try some locally made marmalades and jams, all produced with a minimum carbon footprint. The ‘lost hamlet' of Masca is also on the cards, one of Tenerife's most eye-catching spots, dramatically perched on a ridge overlooking a valley.

Teide National Park Tour with Expert Local Guide

Tenerife is a medley of picture-postcard villages, high-octane viewpoints and otherworldly landscapes. And nowhere more so than in Teide National Park. On this full day tour, you'll wind your way up the slopes of Mount Teide volcano, where an optional cable car ride can take you to the summit. Juana, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘Teide National Park and the surrounding Corona Forestal Nature Reserve together account for one third of Tenerife's land mass – the extent to which the volcano dominates our island is indescribable.'Dramatic volcanic landscapes await as you venture into Teide National Park to see the showstopper itself – the 3,700-metre Mount Teide. As you climb, you'll pass through four different climate zones, which create an ever-changing kaleidoscope of terrains, flora and fauna. And because of its geological importance, the park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Juana says, ‘The park boasts a variety of camera-grabbing landscapes. There's the scorched earth of the lava fields, the jagged rock formations of Roques de Garcia, the Mars-like badlands around Montaña Rajada and the pine forests of the Corona Forestal.'As an optional extra, you can avail of the cable car service to just below the summit of the volcano. From this altitude, weather permitting, you can enjoy head-spinning views over Tenerife and the rest of the Canary archipelago jutting up from the Atlantic. Alternatively, you might get to see the famous ‘sea of clouds' that often hovers beneath the summit.
