Découvrir Akamas Peninsula National Park
Akamas Peninsula National Park is not for your average Cyprus visitor. Those who go to Akamas Peninsula National Park in northwest Cyprus tend to seek more than just the ordinary beach holiday — they want to explore a mountainous nature reserve characterised by wildlife diversity, secluded beaches, clear waters, and free from human development.
A hotspot for biodiversity in Cyprus due to its relatively inaccessible location, Akamas Peninsula National Park is home to a wide range of flora and fauna. If you’re lucky, you might be able to spot the Paphos Blue (Glaucopsyche paphos), a small butterfly that is endemic to Cyprus. Other points of interest in the area include the Baths of Aphrodite, where according to myth the goddess Aphrodite used to bathe, the Blue Lagoon cove, and Lara Beach, a secluded beach that is known for its resident sea turtles.
Akamas Peninsula is a promontory facing the Mediterranean Sea found approximately 40 km north of Paphos, Cyprus. To get around, it’s best to get a sturdy 4x4 vehicle or quad bike for off-road driving as opposed to using a car since there are not many roads here. You can also get around by foot on one of the many hiking trails or cruise along the shores of the Akamas Peninsula by boat.

Avis Akamas Peninsula National Park
“We enjoyed this trip overall as it was a different kind of holiday experience. There was a good mix of on and off road driving. However, there wasn't much to see and the staff couldn't be bothered with the customers. They gave little information on the three stops. There was no safety briefing prior to using the quad, and they didn't show anyone how to use them or the buggies. Staff would then become irritable if you had problems starting the quad etc despite never being shown how to use it.”
“We have been on several other cruises with this company that have all been first class, which is what made this so disappointing. Cruising time was short as more time was spent anchored. We felt there were too many on the boat. When you left your seats someone else moved in, when seated, others were always standing over you. Spent over 30 mins of the time queuing for food, which we found bland, no dessert served, and you don't see the baths - it's pointed out where they are.”
“An absolute pleasure. The staff was so friendly so helpful . Really nice experience was . Thank you .”
