In the early morning, drive to the eastern part of Bali to reach Lempuyang temple, passing the crowded Kusamba, a traditional fishing village in the Klungkung region. You're invited to participate in a centuries-old tradition of salt making by following a short path through huts to a black sand beach, where you'll learn how the locals make salt traditionally using simple tools. A winding road will take you to Mount Lempuyang, home to one of Bali's oldest and most sacred temples. You'll then reach the Balinese split gate, commonly referred to as the Gate of Heaven, which has Mount Agung in the background.
Next, you'll visit the ancient water palace of the Karangasem Kingdom, Tirta Gangga, built in the late 1940s. The water garden is a cool oasis with pools fed by springs. Here you can enjoy your brunch while admiring the view of the palace.
Continue your day in the regency of Bangli and visit the most famous hidden waterfall, recently added to the list of must-see places: the Tukac Cepung waterfall. Well hidden among the rocks, it became one of the new ideal destinations for taking perfect photos.
