Experience the art of traditional sparkling wine craftsmanship on the Celebrate Life tour, which includes a special highlight: a live demonstration of disgorgement.
At Henkell Freixenet, there's always been a fervour for producing sparkling wines using time-honoured bottle fermentation methods. These techniques have been preserved and progressively refined over the years. The Celebrate Life tour begins in the grand marble hall at the winery's headquarters in Wiesbaden. The journey then descends seven floors into the depths of the wine cellar, where you'll learn all about the various methods used to produce Sekt, Cava, Proescco, Champagne and Crémant. You'll get to witness these processes first-hand in the in-house sparkling wine manufactory. Have you ever seen yeast freeze – right in the neck of a bottle of sparkling wine? This crucial step, known as "disgorgement", is necessary to separate the yeast from the liquid.
Following this live demonstration of disgorgement, savour the freshly disgorged premium sparkling wine in its purest form. The Celebrate Life tour concludes with a visit to the winery's store, where you can indulge in some retail therapy to your heart’s content.
