Silves war zwischen 1249 und 1910 die Hauptstadt der Algarve, als dieser Teil Portugals noch ein eigenes Königreich war. Damals sah man Ritter auf Pferden durch die Straßen traben, riesige Märkte in der Innenstadt und sogar Bogenschützen auf den Stadtmauern. Neun Tage lang im August wird in ganz Silves nachgestellt, wie der Ort damals ausgesehen haben könnte, und diese abendliche Tour bringt das alles zum Vorschein.
